Paris

Description  Paris has been capital of France since 987AD (except for a brief period during the hundred years war). As an important city with a long history, Paris offers a huge variety of experiences to the visitor.

Any visit to Paris should include the Louvre, the greatest art museum in the world. Don't miss the big three pieces- Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, and Winged Victory.

Also recommended is the stroll along the banks of the Seine, with wonderful views of the city. The trees along the way offer welcome shade on a hot day. Walk half-way across the oldest bridge across the river, the Pont Neuf, to gain an ideal vantage point.

For a slightly higher viewpoint, take the lift to the top of the Eiffel tower, for an amazing panorama of the city.
