Description
If you love hanging in your ride, you'll love Daytona beach. Beach driving has long been a tradition on Daytona beach. In the late 1930s several land-speed attempts were made here. Nowadays, there's still over 15 miles of beach open to cars. The Pier is the most popular area on the beach - it's one of the longest piers on the East coast. Next to the pier is the Bandshell, a popular gig venue. Also check out the junk shops on the Boardwalk. The boardwalk, pier, and bandshell were all built by the oddly-named Works Progress Administration in 1938. Nearly everything's made out of coquina shells, including the pier, the bandshell, and many of the trinkets on sale. After a day soaking up the rays at the beach, join in the buzzing nightlife - the 2 most famous clubs are the Ocean Deck Beach club, and Razzle's nightclub. |
