Little Miss Sunshine

The Hoovers are an odd-ball family who live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There a 6 Hoover family members. Firstly there's Richard, who has set himself the hopeless task of selling his own nine-point motivational plan. Next is Sheryl, his wife. She's completely stressed out, and starting to lose faith in her marriage. They have 2 children, Dwayne, a sullen teenager who dreams of being a fighter pilot, and 7 year old Olive. Then there's Richard's father Edwin, who's been kicked out of his retirement home for snorting heroin. Finally comes Frank, Sheryl's Proust-reading brother, who's just failed to commit suicide.

When Olive wins a place in a beauty pageant at Redondo Beach, California, the whole family decide to come along. They all jump into their beat-up old VW camper for the 2 day road trip.
