Why in 100 Best? An epic tale with gripping action scenes. The simple desire of the slaves for freedom is counterpointed by complicated political intrigue at the heart of the Roman establishment. Of course the best scene is when all the slaves stay loyal to the end by volunteering the words 'I'm Spartacus'.
