Spartacus

Plot  Spartacus, a lowly slave, is sold to a Gladiator trainer. His natural leadship qualities shine when he rallies the other gladiators, leading a revolt and a successful escape. Spatacus and his men stay on the move, gathering supporters and forming a huge slave army. Meanwhile the mean and heartless Roman senators Gracchus and Crassius plan the brutal qwelling of the uprising. Their trump card is the mighty Roman army - an organized, efficient and utterly ruthless fighting machine.
Why in 100 Best?
An epic tale with gripping action scenes. The simple desire of the slaves for freedom is counterpointed by complicated political intrigue at the heart of the Roman establishment. Of course the best scene is when all the slaves stay loyal to the end by volunteering the words 'I'm Spartacus'.
