Description
The town of Breckenridge was born out of the 1870s gold-rush, and there's still some old-west style atmosphere. It's much built up now of course, with all the amenities, services, and great apres-ski you'd expect in a thriving modern ski-resort.
The resort is at the base of 4 high mountains, known as Peaks 8, 9, 10, and 7. The ski slopes are amongst the highest in North America, so the snow record is consistently good. The ski-ing is an intermediates dream, with a vast array of exciting runs. Experts will also find lots to do. The new off-piste terrain on Peak 7 is totally gripping. For snowboarders wishing to practice their acrobatics, there's a park and half-pipe. The town of 'Breck' has plenty of entertainment both day and night. Take the quaint old trolley bus, and admire the historic buildings built during the gold-rush.
