Description
Chamonix, nestled at the foot of Mont Blanc, has a rich tradition, both as a ski resort and a mountaineering centre. The town itself is lively, with lots of good shops, restaurants, bars and clubs. A highlight of the resort is the 19km off-piste Vallée-Blance run, from the top of the L'Aiguille Du Midi cable car, all the way to the the Mer De Glace. A guide will help you to avoid those yawning crevasses! If you want to range wider afield, Chamonix is part of the Ski Pass Mont Blanc area - which covers 9 more resorts including the fabulous Argentiere. |
